It’s well worth finding a sunny spot in the perennial border for this compact cultivar. The burgundy-edged young foliage matures to dark green, forming a bushy mound that stays neat and tidy throughout the growing season. Stems are topped with red buds that open to deep pink, starry flowers. Gaura lindheimeri 'Passionate Blush' makes a fine addition to the garden, attracting pollinating insects and bringing a touch of elegance to cut flower arrangements. A choice plant for cottage garden planting schemes, and looks particularly good in patio containers. Height and spread: 60cm (24").

How to Grow

Grow Gaura plants in a sunny position on moist, well drained soil. Although Gauras prefer full sun and a moist soil, they will also tolerate partial shade and drought once established.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until Gaura plants are fully established. In autumn, cut back faded Gaura flower stems and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant. Divide clumps of overcrowded plants in spring.
