Description

This delightful assortment of blueberry cultivars presents a wonderful chance for gardeners to explore a diverse range of blueberry varieties, which could include options from early, mid, and late-season fruiting. This mix is perfect for those who wish to enjoy harvest throughout the summer months, while also adding ornamental appeal to their gardens. From an array of flavors and sizes, these blueberries might satisfy the palate as well as enhance the visual interest of any garden space.

Each plant has been carefully chosen for its resilience and adaptability to the UK climate, ensuring that they thrive in various conditions. Blueberries exhibit a range of characteristics, including differences in size, flavor, sweetness, and yield, making them an exciting experience for any gardener. While all the plants are self-fertile, encouraging cross-pollination among different types can significantly boost fruit production, leading to a more bountiful harvest.

These blueberry plants are versatile, thriving in containers or in acidic soil when planted directly in the ground. They require ericaceous compost and benefit from consistent watering, preferably with rainwater or soft tap water. To maintain their health and productivity, annual pruning is recommended, along with a spring mulch of pine needles or bark to retain moisture and nutrients. Hardy enough to withstand typical winter conditions in most parts of the UK, these plants produce delicious, richly flavored fruits from June to September, while also showcasing stunning autumn foliage that attracts pollinating insects, making them a valuable addition to any garden.

To provide you with such a great price, we are unable to accept orders for specific varieties. However, rest assured that whatever we send your way, you will be pleased with your plants. Height: 150 cm (59 in) Spread: 150 cm (59 in)

How to Grow
Blueberries require a well drained, acid soil in a sunny or semi shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow blueberry plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and soil based compost.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
If possible, blueberries should be watered with rainwater because the lime contained in tap water will reduce the acidity in the soil over time. Blueberries will begin to produce fruit in their third year. As fruits begin to develop, cover the plants with netting to protect the berries from birds. From their third year, begin to prune out the oldest stems each autumn to promote new growth and maintain a healthy plant framework.
