Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
Pot up acer plants and grow them on in cool frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside in their final positions. When plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions before transplanting them in borders outdoors. Grow acer trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade, with shelter from strong winds which can scorch the finely cut leaves. Alternatively grow acers in large containers using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.

Great Condition 2016-06-07

My new acer arrived well packaged and in great condition. I immediately repotted it and can't wait until it grows. I've always admired these stunning Japanese Maples and have finally got my own. Many Thanks.

Not what I expected 2016-04-27

I bought 1 plant and it arrived with main stem broken, some leaves damaged, overall in poor condition. The plant wasn't attached inside the box so that's why it got damage, box didn't even have frigile sign on it. I hope it will recover but really not sure.

Acer is in disappointing condition 2016-04-26

I bought one, it arrived in poor condition, main stem was broken. Packaging was very poor, plant was't attached to anything, and I guess it got broken during postage. Many damaging on leaves. At least make an effort to pack it properly and put frigile sign on a box.

Acers 2016-01-10

Rather agree with first review, although my acers have six branches. Potted on and one looks dead and the other has one new shoot. Holding on in case they show more signs of life.

Pricey 2016-01-09

Rather disappointed with the 2 acers. Just small single twigs with a few leaves on, 3 of which fell off one of them on unpacking. Have potted them on and they seem ok but you can get far more substantial ones for only a little more money at garden centres.

My wonderful acres 2014-12-09

Just received 2 acres, 1 was fine but the other one was stabled to the box so on removing it the growing tip was ripped off. I phoned and was told it would be fine as the tip would grow back hope there right. I have had 1 in my garden for 14yrs and it's beautiful, but will grown these In a container. Fingers crossed for me
