Description
Grown mainly for its outstanding foliage and excellent habit, Viburnum trilobum 'Bailey Compact' is a densely growing variety of this hardy deciduous shrub that maintains its neat rounded shape all year without the need for any extra attention. The three lobed leaves blanket the shrub completely and are eye catching because of their unusual shape, later in the year they turn from a rich green to a fiery red, giving a dazzling autumn display before they tumble to the ground. A worthy bush for any garden, particularly when incorporated as part of a large shrub border. Height: 180cm (71"). Spread 180cm (71").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Viburnum plants in a sunny or semi shaded position, in a moderately fertile, well drained soil. To reduce the risk of frost damage to its winter blooms, plant your Viburnum in a sheltered area, close to an entrance way or path, so the fragrance can be enjoyed.
More Info
In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Viburnum requires little pruning. After flowering, simply cut back stems to a healthy bud and reduce any stems that spoil the symmetry of the plant. Caution: harmful if eaten.
