Description

Viburnum are popular shrubs in the UK thanks to their tough, hardy, resilient behaviour in almost any garden situation. Viburnum x bodnantense 'Charles Lamont' gives excellent winter colour with pretty pink, heavily scented flowers, borne on the bare stems from November to March. Cut some of these stems to enjoy in a vase indoors.

The dark pink blooms of this Viburnum will fade slowly to white with maturity. This blooms are virtually sterile but you may spot a few small, round, purple berries in summer. By autumn, the foliage of the plant transforms to vibrant shades of orange and yellow. Viburnum 'Charles Lamont' is accredited with an RHS AGM, due to its ease of growth, and particularly long season of interest. Height: 3m (9.8'). Spread: 2m (6.5').

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Viburnum plants in a sunny or semi shaded position, in a moderately fertile, well drained soil. To reduce the risk of frost damage to its winter blooms, plant your Viburnum in a sheltered area, close to an entrance way or path, so the fragrance can be enjoyed.
More Info
In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Viburnum requires little pruning. After flowering, simply cut back stems to a healthy bud and reduce any stems that spoil the symmetry of the plant. Caution: harmful if eaten.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
