Description

The Raspberry Cupcake™ is an enchanting Hybrid Tea rose that has captured the hearts of rose lovers everywhere. Renowned for its exquisite fragrance and graceful blooms, it stands out as a must-have for any garden enthusiast. This rose not only boasts stunning visual appeal but also delivers impressive performance, making it a perfect choice for both novice and seasoned gardeners. With its delightful raspberry and lemon scent, reminiscent of a delectable teacake, and its large, cuplike flowers that bloom repeatedly from late spring through fall, the Raspberry Cupcake™ is sure to bring joy and beauty to your outdoor space. Its robust structure, reaching about 4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide, along with its lush medium green foliage, provides a vibrant backdrop for its captivating blooms. Additionally, its remarkable resistance to common rose diseases ensures that it remains a healthy and thriving addition to your garden. Whether used in floral arrangements, as a border plant, or in containers on patios, the Raspberry Cupcake™ is a versatile and charming choice that will undoubtedly enhance any landscape.

With its robust stems and enduring blooms, this plant is an outstanding choice for creating stunning floral arrangements. Its compact form and ability to bloom continuously make it ideal for borders and edging, while its suitability for container planting adds fragrance and vibrant color to patios and balconies.

Raspberry Cupcake™ has garnered numerous awards for its delightful scent and impressive disease resistance, including the Madrid Best Hybrid Tea or Grandiflora in 2019, the Lyon Fragrance Award in 2019, and the Kortrijk/Courtrai Gold Medal and Fragrance Award in both 2019 and 2021, along with the ADR-Sorte in 2020 and the Warsaw Silver Medal and Fragrance Award in 2022.

This plant flourishes in full sun, requiring at least six hours of direct sunlight each day, and thrives best in well-drained, fertile soil. Regular watering is crucial, particularly during dry spells, while care should be taken to prevent waterlogging. Pruning in early spring is recommended to eliminate dead or weak stems and to shape the plant, fostering healthy growth and abundant flowering.

How to Grow
Plant bareroot roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning floribunda roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10") above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
