Description
This Flowering Currant is a hardy deciduous shrub that will brighten up your garden space with its spring colour. Deep pink, almost red buds appear along the stems in bunches early in the season which then open to reveal a creamy yellow inner to add some warm colours to your planting schemes. Ribes gordonianum is an easy to grow plant, not needing any special conditions to continue to flourish in your garden for many years to come! Height: 200cm (78"). Spread: 250cm (98").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Ribes in a sunny, in any well drained soil. Ribes odoratum will happily grow in a semi-shaded spot but may produce fewer flowers and berries. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Flowering Currant shrubs at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
More Info
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Ribes requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
