Not many shrubs boast red flowers, but Potentilla fruticosa ‘Red Lady’ excels. For months, punchy, coral-red flowers with golden centres shine out like jewels against a background of finely textured mid-green leaves.

Potentilla are hardy, deciduous shrubs that are perfect for the front of sunny, free-draining borders. These hardworking and undemanding shrubs flower continuously through summer and most of the autumn, their saucer-shaped blooms shining out amongst low mounds of tiny, mid-green foliage that provides excellent ground cover. Drought-tolerant, they are perfect for rockeries, patios and courtyard gardens where they can be grown in the open ground or in containers. The nectar-rich flowers attract a host of beneficial insects making them great for wildlife gardens too. Height and spread 60cm (24in).
