Description

Lupinus polyphyllus 'Lupini Yellow' is a charming perennial lupin that stands out for its vibrant color and compact size, making it a delightful addition to any garden. Part of the dwarf Lupini series, this variety is specifically cultivated for smaller spaces and container gardening. It showcases striking spikes of bright golden-yellow flowers that rise gracefully above its tidy, bushy foliage. This makes 'Lupini Yellow' an excellent choice for planting at the front of borders or for creating cheerful seasonal displays that can brighten up any outdoor area.

Blooming from late spring to early summer, 'Lupini Yellow' offers a spectacular floral show, with the potential for a second wave of blossoms if the spent flowers are promptly deadheaded. Its compact, dwarf habit is particularly well-suited for containers, small gardens, and the edges of borders, allowing gardeners to maximize their space without sacrificing beauty. Additionally, this variety is not only visually appealing but also serves an ecological purpose, as it attracts bees and other pollinators, thereby enhancing the biodiversity of the garden.

The plant thrives in full sun and prefers moist, well-drained soil that is ideally neutral to slightly acidic. While it is generally low maintenance once established, it is advisable to protect young plants from slugs and snails during their initial growth stages. Fully hardy in the UK, 'Lupini Yellow' requires minimal care, allowing gardeners to enjoy its vibrant blooms and lush green, palmate foliage without extensive effort. This makes it a perfect choice for both novice and experienced gardeners looking to add a splash of color to their outdoor spaces. Height: 40 cm (16 in) Spread: 30 cm (12 in)
