Charmingly named the Water Violet, Hottonia palustris is an excellent oxygenating aquatic for deep water of up to 80cm (32"). From late spring this hardy perennial sends up lilac-white flowers that stand above water level. Stems of whorled, feathery foliage may remain submerged in water or rise above the surface. Interestingly, Hottonia palustris produces differing foliage types for submerged and terrestrial growth allowing it to thrive in both shallow margins and deep water. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 100cm (39"). Planting depth: Zones 2, 3 & 4 to 80cm (32") below water level.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
