Description
A forsythia that's compact enough to be grown in a container, this hardy shrub is guaranteed to brighten up your patio in the spring! Forsythia x intermedia 'Mikador' heralds spring's return with a dazzling display of bright yellow flowers on stems that have yet to produce the seasons leaves. Once the blooms have faded away, the foliage of Forsythia is a pleasant light green which will continue to keep wherever it is planted looking bright and cheerful. Height: 100cm (39"). Spread: 100cm (39").

Culinary note: The blossoms are edible raw, though they can be slightly bitter. The will add colour to salads and are a cheery garnish. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Forsythia plants in moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water Forsythia plants regularly until fully established. Container grown plants will require annual dressing with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser and regular watering throughout the summer months. Border grown plants will require less attention. In late spring after flowering has finished, prune Forsythia by cutting back all flowered shoots to a healthy pair of leaves. On established Forsythia plants, cut back up to a fifth of the oldest shoots to their base, to encourage healthy new growth and improve flowering. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning.
