Description
Forsythia brings a colourful splash of gold to the garden, brightening up even the dullest days of early spring. Awarded a prestigious RHS AGM, Forsythia x intermedia 'Lynwood Variety' is a superb cultivar for larger borders, where it will make a fine specimen plant. From early March the naked stems become smothered in star-shaped yellow blooms, before the bright green foliage emerges. This reliable deciduous shrub is hardy and easy to grow. Plant it in view of a window where its vibrant colour can be appreciated from your home. Height and spread: 3m (10’).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Forsythia plants in moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water Forsythia plants regularly until fully established. Container grown plants will require annual dressing with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser and regular watering throughout the summer months. Border grown plants will require less attention. In late spring after flowering has finished, prune Forsythia by cutting back all flowered shoots to a healthy pair of leaves. On established Forsythia plants, cut back up to a fifth of the oldest shoots to their base, to encourage healthy new growth and improve flowering. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning.
