Description

From trials, totalling 10,000 plants, this extra special hydrangea was selected for its stunning appearance with a garden performance to match! Its blooms emerge pure white then mature through the season to a delicious raspberry pink. Hydrangea paniculata 'Vanille Fraise' is easy to grow and perfect for those problematic north-facing areas, due to its extreme hardiness - down to -20C! Height and Spread: 180cm (72").

To decorate a well-used doorway, opt for a pair of standard plants, grown with a clear stem topped with a formal head of foliage and flowers. Height: 110cm (43").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Hydrangea paniculata prefers a sunny or semi-shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non-alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. If necessary, Hydrangea paniculata will tolerate hard pruning of the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level. This will also encourage larger flower heads to be produced. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: All parts of hydrangea will upset the stomach if eaten. The foliage may also aggravate skin allergies.
Caution

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten
