Description

A dense thicket of red shoots quickly become covered in greenery in Spring, inter-dispersed with cream coloured flowers that insects find very attractive. Autumn will turn the leaves beautiful shades of red and gold and finally when revealed, the stems will turn a deep red or purple over Winter.

Cornus alba 'Kesselringii' is a vigorous variety of dogwood, sure to give all round interest in your garden. It also makes a good choice as a deciduous informal hedge, providing flowers, autumn and winter interest plus a great habitat for wildlife. Plant it on its own, alongside other dogwoods, or mixed with other hedging species. Height: 250cm (98"). Spread: 250cm (98").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

More Info
Feed and water dogwoods regularly until fully established. Once established, they will require less attention. To encourage plenty of colourful stems, Dogwood will need regular pollarding in early spring. Cut back all dogwood stems to 3 buds above soil level or to a permanent low framework. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning. Caution: Dogwood berries are harmful if eaten. Irritant to skin and eyes.
