Description
Large umbels of white, trumpet shaped flowers make an elegant display in summer borders and patio containers. Agapanthus 'Arctic Star' blooms from July to September above clumps of linear grey-green, semi evergreen foliage. The sturdy, upright stems of this African Lily are ideal for cutting for summer bouquets. This hardy perennial is tough and resilient, forming superb, low maintenance ground cover when planted en masse. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
More Info
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
