Description
Elegant white flower spikes with primrose-yellow centres tower over perennial borders. This graceful Mullein makes a superb architectural feature adding height and movement to planting schemes. The upright blooms of Verbascum phlomoides 'Snow Maiden' are superb for cutting, blending beautifully into summer bouquets. Although generally grown as a biennial or short lived perennial, this Verbascum will self seed to provide a fresh crop of Mullein plants next spring, that will flower in the following year. Height: 120cm (47"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

1 x 1 litre potted verbascum plant (64706)
2 x 1 litre potted verbascum plants (T64707P)

How to Grow
Plant Mullein into well drained, neutral or alkaline soil in full sun. Verbascum will thrive on poor, gravelly soils.
More Info
Established Verbascum plants require little maintenance. Deadhead faded flower spikes to encourage more verbascum flowers to be produced. Alternatively, leave the faded blooms to set seed to ensure a new batch of Mullein plants next spring. On very fertile soils, verbascum will grow larger in size and the tall flower stems may require staking with garden canes. Cut back the old stems at the base of the plant in autumn.
