This outstanding range of handpicked seeds are perfect for enjoying in the garden or in the home. This range includes show-stopping flowers and elegant floral fillers ideal for a bouquet.

An irresistibly tactile grass producing masses of fluffy flowerheads which emerge green and mature to a buff pink. Especially beautiful when backlit, Setaria viridis ‘Caramel’ adds movement and texture to borders. It’s popular with professional flower arrangers and makes a lovely filler either fresh or dried. As a bonus, the flowerheads attract seed-eating birds. Height: 80cm (31in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

Sowing

Sow 6-8 weeks before the last frost into good quality seed compost and cover lightly. Keep warm and moist until germination. Once seedlings are large enough to handle prick them out into individual cells or pots. Plant out when all danger of frost has passed allowing 30cm spacing between plants. Water well during the establishment phase.

Grow in full sun in freely draining soil. Plants can self-seed prolifically. To avoid this remove them at the end of the season before they have dropped seed.
