Description

The 'Simsalabim' rose, also referred to as 'Abracadabra', is a remarkable Floribunda cultivar that captivates with its vibrant, striped flowers and compact growth. This rose is not only visually stunning with its unique patterns of yellow petals accented by burgundy or red stripes, but it also thrives in various garden settings due to its manageable size.

With large, goblet-shaped blooms that open in a spiral and a light, subtle fragrance, it adds a delightful sensory experience to any garden. Blooming repeatedly from June to November, it ensures a continuous display of color, making it a perfect choice for borders, containers, or as a striking focal point. Each flower's distinct pattern guarantees that no two blooms are alike, enhancing the dynamic beauty of your garden.

For optimal growth, plant it in well-drained soil with full sun exposure, and remember to water regularly while avoiding waterlogging. Pruning in early spring will promote healthy growth, and providing winter protection in colder climates will help maintain its health.

Growth Habit: A compact, upright shrub reaching heights of 100cm (39in), making it suitable for small gardens and container planting.

How to Grow
Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning floribunda roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10") above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
