Description

Rose 'Nina Weibull' is a delightful floribunda variety that captivates with its compact growth and vibrant scarlet-red blooms. This hardy rose is known for its ability to produce an abundance of flowers throughout the growing season, making it a reliable choice for gardeners looking to add a splash of color to their outdoor spaces. Its bushy form, complemented by dark green, glossy foliage, makes it an attractive addition to small gardens, containers, or even as part of a mass planting scheme.

The flowers of 'Nina Weibull' are semi-double to double in structure, creating a stunning display that can be enjoyed from early summer until the first frosts of autumn. Their lightly scented nature makes them particularly appealing when planted near seating areas or pathways, inviting passersby to pause and appreciate their beauty. This rose is not only visually striking but also practical, as it thrives in various soil types and demonstrates good resistance to common diseases, including mildew and rust.

With a height of approximately 75 cm (30 in) and a spread of around 60 cm (24 in), 'Nina Weibull' is an excellent choice for bedding, borders, and low hedging. Its uniform appearance and consistent flowering make it a classic option for mass planting, ensuring a cohesive and eye-catching display. Regular deadheading will encourage prolonged blooming, allowing gardeners to enjoy its vibrant colors for an extended period. Fully hardy in the UK, this rose is a wonderful addition to any garden, bringing joy and beauty throughout the seasons.

How to Grow
Plant potted roses at the earliest opportunity. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning floribunda roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10") above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
