Description

The Rose 'Bee Gold' is a stunning floribunda variety that brings a burst of cheerful golden-yellow blooms to any garden. Known for its vibrant, pollinator-friendly flowers, this rose not only adds a splash of color but also plays a vital role in supporting local wildlife. With its excellent disease resistance, it thrives throughout the growing season, making it a perfect choice for enhancing borders, filling containers, or creating wildlife-friendly planting schemes that attract beneficial insects.

This compact and bushy rose features glossy dark green foliage that beautifully complements its semi-double, bright golden-yellow flowers. Each cluster of blooms emits a light fragrance, inviting both gardeners and pollinators alike to enjoy its charm. The flowering period extends from early summer to autumn, ensuring that your garden remains lively and colorful for months on end. Its open flower form and rich pollen content make it particularly appealing to bees and other pollinating insects, fostering a vibrant ecosystem in your outdoor space.

Rose 'Bee Gold' is not only visually striking but also remarkably low maintenance, requiring minimal effort to keep it flourishing. A simple deadheading of spent blooms will encourage further flowering, allowing you to enjoy its beauty for an extended period. Fully hardy in the UK, this rose adapts well to various garden conditions, reaching a height of approximately 90 cm (35 in) and a spread of around 60 cm (24 in). Whether planted in mixed borders, dedicated rose beds, or as part of a pollinator garden, 'Bee Gold' is sure to brighten any landscape while supporting the essential work of pollinators.

How to Grow
Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning floribunda roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10") above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
