Description

Rose 'Giardina' is a stunning floribunda variety that captivates with its vibrant coral-pink blooms and remarkable ability to flower continuously throughout the growing season. This rose not only adds a splash of color to any garden but also boasts impressive disease resistance, making it a dependable choice for gardeners seeking to create lively and resilient displays. Its compact and upright growth habit, complemented by glossy dark green foliage, ensures that it remains an attractive feature in various garden settings.

Each cluster of semi-double flowers emits a mild fragrance, inviting both admiration and pollinators to the garden. The 'Giardina' begins its blooming cycle in early summer and continues to produce its cheerful blossoms well into autumn, providing a long-lasting source of beauty. Its open flowers are particularly appealing to bees and other beneficial insects, enhancing the ecological value of your garden while supporting local wildlife. This rose thrives in mixed borders, dedicated rose beds, and even in containers, making it a versatile addition to any landscape.

To ensure that the 'Giardina' maintains its prolific flowering, regular deadheading is recommended, which encourages the plant to produce new blooms. Fully hardy in the UK, this rose can withstand the colder months, making it a reliable choice for gardeners in various climates. With a height of approximately 90 cm (35 inches) and a spread of around 75 cm (30 inches), it fits comfortably into a range of garden designs, providing both structure and vibrant color that can brighten any outdoor space.

How to Grow
Plant potted roses at the earliest opportunity. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning floribunda roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10") above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
