Description

A variety that will make your mouth water! Primrose 'Rhubarb and Custard' is a delicious colour combination of creamy yellow blooms with a raspberry pink picotee edge, that highlights its dainty ruffled margins. This pretty perennial braves the cold from February to May brightening up beds, borders and containers with its showy blooms. With a low, clump forming habit, it makes superb ground cover when planted in large groups, but is just as eye-catching dotted through mix containers on the patio! Height and spread: 20cm (8”).

How to Grow
Gradually acclimatise Primrose plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days prior to transplanting them to their final positions outdoors. Plant primroses in any fertile, moist, well drained soil in borders, beds, and containers. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade.

Take care not to over-water during the winter months as cold, wet conditions may cause the plants to rot. Deadhead faded primrose flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Lift and divide primroses in overcrowded clumps during spring to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
