Description

A recent introduction from the ‘Lips’ series, this purple and white bicolour boasts all of the attributes that have made its cousin, Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ so popular. The aromatic foliage of Salvia 'Cherry Lips' has a fine blackcurrant fragrance that only adds to its charm. This showy ornamental sage is perfect for cottage garden borders and containers, or incorporated into bedding schemes for a vibrant summer display. Although hardy perennial, this Salvia will appreciate some protection from winter weather. Height: 90cm (35"). Spread: 60cm (24").

How to Grow
Pot up salvia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well drained soil, and situated in a sheltered spot in full sun.
More Info
Feed and water regularly until fully established. Although perennial, this Salvia will require some winter protection in all but the mildest areas of the UK. If growing it in containers, it can be moved to a cold greenhouse or conservatory over the winter months. Prune lightly in late spring when new growth appears to remove dead stems and maintain a bushy habit.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
