Penstemon 'Countess of Dalkeith'Beard Tongue

If you have a passion for purple, then Penstemon ‘Countess of Dalkeith’ should certainly deserve a place in your garden. Her royal purple flowers have a bold white throat and are held elegantly on upright stems. With aristocratic looks but a robust constitution, Penstemon ‘Countess of Dalkeith’ will shake off rain and drought, gracing borders with a continuous display of foxglove-like trumpets  throughout the summer. Penstemons are invaluable plants for the front of the border. These are generous perennials, putting on a non-stop performance for little work aside from dead-heading and after their main summer flush they will often stretch themselves with subsequent blooms deep into autumn.
