Description

These jewel-like flowers offer a surprise autumn treat for a rockery, gravel garden or patio container.

From late summer to autumn, Oxalis 'Autumn Pink' produces delicate, rose-pink, funnel-shaped flowers streaked with raspberry. These intricate flowers undergo an intriguing transformation during the day. Each morning, the blooms unfurl into dainty trumpets to catch the light, then each evening curl into slender buds spiralled with candy-stripes. The flowers are held just above low mounds of light green leaves, made up of three slender leaflets, forming a soft, textured background for the flowers.

Flowering from August to November, this delicate beauty brings a touch of magic towards the end of the season. Ultimate height: 10-15cm (4-6in). Ultimate spread: 20cm (8in).

How to Grow
Outdoors, grow oxalis plants in containers or in sheltered rockeries and borders. In frost prone areas it is best grown as a houseplant on a bright windowsill or in a conservatory or greenhouse. Plant oxalis corms at a depth of 3cm (1") in well drained, rich fertile soil, or for indoor cultivation, in a loam based compost. Position in full sun or light shade.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing it. Oxalis bulbs require a short period of dormancy in summer during which time the compost should be allowed to dry out a little so that it is kept just moist. Resume feeding and watering when oxalis plants start into growth again.
