Description

Lupinus polyphyllus 'Lupini Red' is a captivating perennial lupin that stands out for its vibrant color and compact growth, making it an excellent choice for various garden settings. Part of the Lupini series, this plant showcases striking red flower spikes that rise above its tidy foliage, creating a bold visual impact. Its dwarf habit allows it to fit seamlessly into pots, small gardens, and front-of-border plantings, ensuring that even limited spaces can benefit from its dramatic presence.

Blooming from late spring to early summer, 'Lupini Red' offers a spectacular display of dense, upright flower spikes that can potentially produce a second wave of blooms if deadheaded promptly. This feature not only extends the flowering period but also enhances the overall aesthetic of your garden. The plant's compact form makes it particularly well-suited for container gardening and patio displays, allowing gardeners to enjoy its beauty without requiring extensive space. Additionally, its ability to attract bees and other pollinators contributes positively to garden biodiversity, making it a valuable addition to any eco-friendly landscape.

Thriving in full sun and preferring moist yet well-drained soil that is neutral to slightly acidic, 'Lupini Red' is relatively easy to care for. It benefits from some slug protection during the spring months and regular deadheading to encourage prolonged flowering. Fully hardy in the UK, this perennial lupin is not only resilient but also low-maintenance, making it an ideal choice for both novice and experienced gardeners looking to add a splash of color to their outdoor spaces. Height: 40 cm (16 in) Spread: 30 cm (12 in)
