Description
Clusters of vivid yellow blooms tip the twining stems of Lonicera 'Golden Trumpet' from June to August. A cultivar of Lonicera x brownii, this appealing Honeysuckle is delicately fragrant, producing glossy red berries that replace the blooms as they fade. With its bright tropical colour, this vigorous climber makes a lovely choice for an exotic planting scheme, climbing over arbours, pergolas or trained onto trellis. Height: 4m (12'). Spread: 2m (6').

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant honeysuckle against a suitable, sturdy support such as trellis or strong wires attached to walls and pergolas, in fertile, moist, free draining soil. Poor soils can be improved by adding plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in sun or semi-shade. When growing honeysuckle in patio containers, use soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
More Info
Feed and water lonicera regularly throughout the growing season until they are fully established. Check young shoot tips regularly as honeysuckle plants are susceptible to aphid damage, particularly when grown in full sun. Prune immediately after flowering, first removing the oldest stems, then reducing the remaining stems to restrict their vigorous growth to the available space. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant in spring. Caution: Harmful if eaten.
