Video
The arching, open branches of Deutzia purpurea 'Kalmiiflora' are quickly covered in the oval leaved rich green foliage in spring. These provide the backdrop for deep pink buds which will start to form during early summer and then darkness of the bud gives way to a delicate pale pink, star shaped bloom during May and June. An ideal shrub for including in a border or as a stand alone specimen. Height : 150cm (59"). Spread: 100cm (39").

Grow Deutzia in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in full sun.
More Info Feed and water Deutzia plants regularly until fully established. Once established, Deutzia shrubs will require little attention. After flowering, cut back the flowered shoots to a pair of healthy buds. On mature plants, remove a fifth of the oldest shoots from the base of the plant. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning.
