Introduced in the 1980’s, Heuchera 'Rachel' remains as popular as ever. This clump-forming perennial boasts ruffled bronze-green foliage with a distinct purple tint. The evergreen foliage shows off its airy sprays of pink flowers to perfection in early summer. The blooms are always busy with pollinating insects, making this a good choice for a wildlife garden. Plant it at the front of borders for year round colour and interest. It also makes a useful choice for mixed plantings in winter patio containers. Height and spread: 45cm (18").

How to Grow

Heuchera plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or semi shade.

Feed and water coral flower plants regularly until they are fully established.Apply a mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant each spring. Lift and divide clumps of heuchera plants every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
