Description

Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra 'Funky Spinner' is a captivating perennial that stands out in any garden with its eye-catching, daisy-like flowers. This particular variety is celebrated for its vibrant, multicolored blooms that feature a delightful swirl of burgundy, cream, and yellow. Flowering from mid to late summer, 'Funky Spinner' brings a burst of color and texture to perennial borders and cottage gardens, making it a favorite among gardeners looking to enhance their outdoor spaces with lively hues.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, 'Funky Spinner' plays a vital role in supporting local wildlife, as its flowers are particularly attractive to pollinators like bees and butterflies. This not only enriches the garden's biodiversity but also contributes to the overall health of the ecosystem. The plant is complemented by its medium-green foliage, which has a rough texture that provides a lush backdrop for the striking blooms, ensuring that the flowers remain the focal point throughout the growing season.

Thriving in full sun to partial shade, 'Funky Spinner' prefers well-drained, fertile soil to reach its full potential. Once established, it demonstrates good drought tolerance, although it benefits from regular watering to maintain its vibrant appearance. Additionally, this variety is resistant to most pests and diseases, making it a low-maintenance option for gardeners. Its compact, bushy growth habit makes it ideal for mid-border placements, cutting gardens, and naturalized areas, where it can deliver a delightful splash of late-season color. Height: 90 cm (36 in) Spread: 60 cm (24 in)
