Witch Hazels are a gardener favourite for their autumn leaf colours and their winter resistant fragrant, spider like flowers on the bare branches during the coldest winter period. Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Orange Beauty’ produces stunning yellow and orange autumn leaves before falling, followed by deep orange-yellow flowers on the bare branches. A fully hardy, deciduous shrub, that is ideal for borders and the edges of woodland gardens. Height and spread: 4m (13’).

Grow Witch Hazel in borders in non-alkaline, rich fertile, well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil to improve its structure and fertility.
More Info Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants become established. Prune hamamelis in spring, immediately after flowering. Remove any damaged or diseased stems and lightly shape the plant. After pruning, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the shrub.
