Description

Echinacea purpurea 'Papallo Classic Lemon' is a delightful addition to any garden, known for its compact and floriferous nature. This coneflower showcases soft lemon-yellow blooms that bring a cheerful brightness to borders and containers from midsummer through to autumn. The flowers are characterized by their pale lemon-yellow petals, which beautifully contrast with a striking golden-orange central cone, creating a visually appealing display that can elevate the aesthetics of any outdoor space.

One of the standout features of this plant is its long flowering season, which lasts from midsummer to early autumn, ensuring that your garden remains vibrant and lively for an extended period. Its compact, upright growth habit makes it particularly well-suited for smaller gardens and container arrangements, allowing gardeners with limited space to enjoy its beauty without overwhelming their landscape. Additionally, the plant is a magnet for pollinators, attracting bees and butterflies, which not only enhances the garden's ecosystem but also adds to the overall charm of the setting.

Echinacea purpurea 'Papallo Classic Lemon' thrives in full sun and prefers well-drained soil, making it a resilient choice for various garden conditions. Once established, it demonstrates impressive drought tolerance, allowing it to flourish even in less-than-ideal watering situations. This hardiness makes it particularly suitable for the UK climate, where it can withstand varying weather conditions while continuing to provide a splash of color and life to your garden throughout the growing season. Height: 60 cm (2 ft) Spread: 45 cm (1.5 ft)

How to Grow
Grow echinacea plants in a sunny or semi shaded position on moist, well drained soil. Coneflowers prefer a deep, fertile soil and will benefit from the addition of some well rotted manure or garden compost to soil, prior to planting.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until coneflower plants are fully established. Deadhead faded Echinacea flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut back faded flower stems and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant. Divide overcrowded plants in autumn or spring.
