Description

A dainty evergreen fern with flat, leathery leaves of a blue/green shade that are distinct from the feathery fronds of other Dryopteris. Useful for creeping over rocks and woodland edges and provides an effective textural contrast to other varieties as part of a fern collection. Looks lovely with the delicately veined leaves of Epimedium or the spotted foliage of Pulmonaria. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height and spread: 50cm (20in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant in partial shade in fertile, moist, acid or neutral, soil. Ferns prefer a soil that is rich in organic matter so add some well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting.
More Info
Feed and water ferns regularly until they are fully established. Leave old fronds on over winter to protect the crown. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around each plant in spring.
