Description

Delphinium elatum 'Millennium Dusky Maidens' stands as a remarkable perennial from the esteemed New Millennium series, celebrated for its robust growth and captivating aesthetics. This cultivar showcases an enchanting display of semi-double flowers, each petal adorned in a dusky pink hue that elegantly contrasts with its dark centers. The blooms emerge in abundance from early to mid-summer, creating a breathtaking spectacle that not only enhances the garden's visual appeal but also serves as a magnet for pollinators, including bees and butterflies, thereby fostering a vibrant ecosystem.

The versatility of 'Millennium Dusky Maidens' makes it an exceptional choice for various gardening applications. Its tall, stately form adds vertical interest to garden borders, creating a striking backdrop for lower-growing plants. Additionally, the flowers make for exquisite cut arrangements, allowing gardeners to bring the beauty of their outdoor spaces indoors. This cultivar thrives in full sun to partial shade, making it adaptable to different light conditions, while its preference for well-drained soil ensures that it remains healthy and vigorous throughout the growing season.

Hardy and resilient, this delphinium variety is well-suited to the UK climate, demonstrating a commendable tolerance to frost once established. Its ability to withstand heat further enhances its appeal, making it a reliable choice for gardeners seeking to cultivate a stunning floral display with minimal maintenance. With its combination of beauty, practicality, and hardiness, Delphinium elatum 'Millennium Dusky Maidens' is a true gem that elevates any garden setting, inviting admiration and delight from all who encounter it. Height: 160cm (63 in) Spread: 75cm (30 in)
