The Dwarf Fan Palm, Chamerops humilis, is possibly one of the hardiest evergreen palm trees available. As the name suggests, its fan shaped leaves are produced on short, robust looking trunks and will definitely add an exotic feel to any garden. Slow growing and tough, this variety is ideal for container growing and will also produce clusters of yellow flowers in the summer to give an extra display and add yet further interest. Height: 200cm (78"). Spread: 150cm (59").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

1 x 24cm potted chamaerops plant (KB9224)

How to Grow
Best grown in containers or in a well sheltered border in fertile, well drained soil. Use a good quality compost such Incredicompost® if planting in a container and if possible give some protection during the winter months. Mature plants can tolerate temperatures down to -12 C if the soil is suitably well drained.
More Info
Feed and water regularly until established, once mature, European Fan Palms require less attention and can be drought tolerant. Use protective clothing when pruning or moving plants as can cause skin irritation. Use horticultural fleece to protect pots if cannot be moved indoors during winter.
