Description

Argyranthemum aramis 'Double Pink', commonly referred to as Argyranthemum frutescens Aramis Double Pink, is a delightful addition to any garden, celebrated for its compact growth and prolific, fluffy pink double blooms. This plant is particularly well-suited for a variety of settings, including containers, garden borders, and pollinator-friendly landscapes. Its ability to provide vibrant color throughout the growing season with minimal care makes it a favorite among gardeners looking for both beauty and ease of maintenance.

The plant forms a tidy, bushy mound adorned with finely divided, aromatic green leaves that enhance its overall appeal. From late spring to early autumn, it showcases an abundance of fully double, soft pink flowers that resemble cheerful daisies, creating a stunning visual display. Argyranthemum aramis 'Double Pink' thrives in full sun to partial shade, preferring well-drained soil and moderate watering. Once established, it demonstrates impressive drought tolerance, making it a resilient choice for various climates.

In addition to its aesthetic qualities, this plant plays a vital role in supporting local ecosystems by attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. It integrates beautifully into mixed plantings or patio pots, adding a splash of color and life to any arrangement. Maintenance is straightforward; regular deadheading encourages continuous blooming, and pinching back the growing tips early on helps maintain a compact form. While often treated as an annual in cooler regions, it can behave as a short-lived perennial in milder climates, offering gardeners the chance to enjoy its beauty for multiple seasons. Height: 40 cm (16 in) Spread: 40 cm (16 in).

How to Grow
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise argyranthemum plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant them out in well drained soil in sunny borders. Alternatively, grow Argyranthemum in patio containers using good quality compost.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded Argyranthemum flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, move container-grown plants to a bright frost free position and reduce watering. In spring, prune back stems to within an inch of the previous year’s growth. Border grown plants are unlikely to survive the winter outside in all but the mildest areas.
