Description

Anemone hupehensis 'Snow Angel' is a charming plant that enhances UK gardens with its stunning white flowers and compact form. This hardy perennial is easy to care for, making it a versatile choice for various garden environments, such as borders, containers, and areas designed to attract wildlife. Its ability to thrive in different settings adds to its appeal for gardeners looking to create beautiful and functional spaces.

The plant features pure white, semi-double flowers with delicately notched petals and striking yellow stamens, blooming from late summer to autumn, typically between August and October. Its mid-green, lobed leaves create a tidy, bushy mound that complements the elegant flowers. With a maximum height of around 60 cm and a spread of about 45 cm, it reaches its full size within 2 to 5 years, making it a manageable addition to any garden.

Anemone hupehensis 'Snow Angel' flourishes in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil, adaptable to various types including chalk, clay, loam, or sand. It can thrive in both exposed and sheltered areas, demonstrating remarkable hardiness even in harsh European climates, withstanding temperatures below -20°C. This plant not only adds late-season beauty to flower beds but also attracts bees and other pollinators, contributing to local biodiversity while being a lovely choice for pots and containers on patios and balconies. To ensure its health, keep the soil moist during the growing season, apply balanced fertilizer in early spring, and deadhead spent flowers to promote ongoing blooms.
