Description

More refined than the species, the flower spikes of Aconitum 'Newry Blue' are densely packed with hooded indigo blue flowers. The blooms appear in tall spikes from June to July, above finely cut, glossy foliage. Commonly known as Monkshood, this handsome perennial makes a useful plant for growing in the dappled shade of trees, but will cope well with a sunnier position. Given its toxicity, this perennial is best positioned toward the back of borders, where it can be enjoyed at a safe distance. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Please note: Aconitum is highly poisonous. Always wear gloves when handling and wash hands immediately afterwards.
