Bright pink tubular flowers cover this compact shrub in late spring, making a showy display that will attract pollinating insects to the garden. As the blooms fade in June, the colourful variegated foliage takes centre stage. Each pale green leaf has a wide, buttery yellow margin which takes on lovely pink shades as the summer progresses. Weigela florida 'Magical Rainbow' is a neat, well branched variety that offers a long season of interest whether you grow it in a container or sunny mixed border. An excellent choice for a prominent spot in a wildlife garden. Height and spread: 120cm (4').

Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
More Info Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
