Sowing
Sow outdoors in May to June in a moist, well forked and raked seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly, 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Keep the seed bed damp until germination takes place.

Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle 23x23cm (9x9in) apart. Pinch out growing point when 13-15cm (5-6in) tall to make them bushy. Plant in flower border in autumn at 30cm (12in) apart.
