Description

Verbena hastata 'White Spires' is a captivating perennial that stands out in any garden with its tall, graceful spikes adorned with clusters of pristine white flowers. These elegant blooms not only create a stunning visual display but also serve as a magnet for pollinators, enhancing the ecological health of your garden. The plant's vertical growth habit adds a dynamic element to garden designs, making it an excellent choice for those looking to introduce height and structure to their outdoor spaces.

This remarkable plant typically begins to bloom from mid-summer and continues to showcase its flowers well into early autumn, providing a prolonged period of interest. The lance-shaped leaves, which are a medium green and possess a slightly textured surface, complement the delicate flowers beautifully. Verbena hastata 'White Spires' thrives in moist, well-drained soil and is particularly resilient, able to withstand wetter conditions better than many other garden varieties. While it flourishes in full sun, it can also adapt to light shade, making it versatile for various garden settings.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, this perennial plays a vital role in supporting local biodiversity by attracting a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies. It is well-suited for borders, wildflower gardens, and naturalistic plantings, where it can contribute to a more organic landscape. Hardy across the UK, this plant can endure cold winters and moderate frosts, making it a reliable choice for gardeners in diverse climates. To ensure its health, moderate watering is essential; while it prefers to avoid waterlogged conditions, maintaining consistent moisture during dry spells will help it thrive. Height: 120 cm (47 in) Spread: 45 cm (18 in).
