Give these time 2012-05-21
I grew these from seed last year and was underwhelmed by the plants. I have to say I have changed my mind. This year having survived several hard frosts the plants remained healthy, they are now with several flowering heads and are bridging that gap when bulbs have finished and summer bedding only just going in. I am pleased that I moved them nearer the front of the border. The bees are not the only ones pleased with the colours.
Delicate flowers, but a strong plant 2012-04-15
The seeds I bought and sowed last year (2011)year produced an enormous quantity of very sturdy plants. The blooms on spikes are a lot more delicate than most verbascums, grouped together made some very colourful groupings. The plants overwintered with no mulching. The plants are already showing a very healthy growth, as a result there will be no need to buy any more seed. Thank you T & M for another useful addition to the flower border
