Tulip 'Ice Stick' is one of the earliest of the Kaufmanniana types, flowering from March to April. This intriguing variety has its own unique look that will certainly stand out from the crowd! Pointed white petals are painted gold at the base and flushed with purple on the outside, turning bright raspberry red as the flowers age. A charming and memorable choice for patio pots, beds and borders or adding to cut flower bouquets. Height: 45cm (18”). Spread: 10cm (4”).

Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart.
More Info After flowering, deadhead the faded tulip flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer. Caution: Tulip bulbs are an irritant to skin and eyes, and are harmful if eaten.
