Flowering Months
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. When growing sweet peas it is essential to cut the flower stems frequently and deadhead faded blooms to prevent seedpods developing. This will encourage more blooms to be produced and extend the flowering period throughout summer.

Caution: Seeds are harmful if eaten.

Grow plants on in cool, bright conditions until ready to transplant outdoors. Our sweet pea plants are supplied with the growing tips pinched back to encourage bushy growth. Plant sweet peas in any well drained garden soil in full sun, and train them onto a suitable support such as trellis or a free standing climbing frame. Try using our sweet pea support rings to tie the stems to their growing supports while they become established.

Sweetpeas 2016 2017-01-22

Just about to order the Sweet dreams mixed plugs again for this summer. They were excellent last year, I was still picking them in October. Lovely, easy to grow and good value for money.

T&M replied on 2017-01-23: Thank you very much for your review. I am so pleased to hear that you have been happy with your purchase. I hope we can continue to be of service to you in the future.

planting out? 2016-10-03

it is not clear to me whether the sweet peas on arrival are ready for planting out or whether they need potting up and held under cover till warmer weather comes. My sweet peas are due to arrive and it is only 10th March. please enlighten. Derek Cunningham, London

T&M replied on 2016-03-10: Thank you for your review. Please contact our Customer Care Department at ccare@thompson-morgan.com if you require any further information. One of our agents will be more than happy to help you further.

planting out? 2016-10-03

I am not clear whether sweet peas, as well as other plants and plugs, can be planted out as soon as they arrive, or whether they need to be potted up, kept under cover and planted out in warmer weather. Please enlighten me.

Sweet Peas 2015-04-18

These arrived yesterday - a bit dry though potted up and watered intermediately. As there are about 5 plants per plug how am I meant to plant them around my canes - are they to be separated. I typically plant 2-3 sweet peas per cane and 5 seems excessive and I wont have enough for all my canes? .

T&M replied on 2015-04-21: Thank you for your review. With Sweet Peas these are especially planted to have five plants per plug to give the maximum effect. We would not recommend splitting the plug as this may damage the individual plants. However, we would advise planting a plug at the base of each cane to obtain a full display.

Amazing sweet pea mix 2015-04-10

We had planted the plugs in 7 inch pots in May until all risks of frosts had past. Planted out in late May. to climb a wig-wam structure. The flowers came in an array of colour from pale pink to deep purple. The flowers kept on coming providing you spend a few minutes every other day deadheading or taking blooms for cut flowers.

T&M replied on 2015-10-05: Thank you very much for your review. I am glad that you have been happy with this product. I hope we can continue to be of service to you in the future.

Help! I'm drowning in flowers! 2013-11-07

Wow! These went nuts! I planted them around the base of an obelisk this spring and now they are nearly at the top and I can't cut them off fast enough! Having never grown sweetpeas I was amazed at how well they've done. I have heavy clay soil in Sussex.

What a sheer delight! 2011-07-31

I ordered these last spring and have been continually delighted by the perfume, quality and colour of the blooms this summer. Everyone who has seen them has asked for the name and the source of these plants, which I have happily passed on my only regret was not ordering more but i shall place my order for next year within the next few weeks!

fresh vase full every week ! 2011-07-13

Got off to a bad start with my first batch collapsing and dying over several days. These were replaced by T&M and the second batch just romped away! started picking the blooms as soon as they flowered and each week my vase was fuller than the previous week. Come mid July Im now stripping the plants bare every 4 days and my vase is fuller each time with fresh blooms. Be ruthless like me! The more you pick the more blooms you yet. Lovely !
