Description

This new Salvia is just a little bit special! A fabulous new introduction, it is certain to become one of the most popular hardy Salvias.

Other popular nemerosa cultivars such as ‘Ostfriesland’ and ‘Caradonna’ have small flowers, but Salvia 'A Little Bit' boasts big, deep purple flowers held on a tidy, compact plant which is only 40-50cm high. This makes for a striking plant which is high impact but perfectly suitable for smaller borders and even pot culture.

Successive flower spikes are produced below the first main spike making this an especially long-flowering perennial. Regular deadheading will prolong the flowering period even more. Like other Salvias, it is perfect for a wildlife garden as it is highly attractive to insects. It also makes a lovely cut flower.

Salvias are invaluable border perennials – not only do they flower over a long period, but they add useful vertical accents to borders, breaking up the soft hummocks of other perennials. This excellent new Salvia is one of the best. Height & Spread: 40cm (16").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

1 x 9cm Potted plant (KC8104)

How to Grow
Grow plants on in frost-free condtions and acclimatise to the outdoors for 7-10 days before planting out. Salvia plants prefer a moist, but well-drained soil in full sun, although once established they can also be very drought resistant.
More Info
Water regularly until salvia plants are fully established. Deadhead faded flowers throughout the summer to encourage more blooms to be produced.
