Fantastic show stopper 2016-05-09

What an easy plant to grow from seed, four out of six to maturity. Very weather resistant in all but the driest conditions. Such admired and repeatedly commented on by garden visitors. Will always include in my borders

Brilliant 2015-11-21

Still dominating our garden as the first snow falls, the seeds looked like martians when they germinated (I got 4 out of 6 on a NE-facing window ledge) and the plants have been a talking point throughout the summer. Definitely to be repeated next year!

100.00% 2011-09-20

I was panicked into sowing mine in early February after watching Carol Kleins garden, where she was planting hers out in July that she said she'd sown in January! I got 100% germination (had also bought carmencita and had the same result!), the only challenge was finding the right place to grow them on until all risk of frost had passed and they could be planted out, already large plants! I kept potting them on, and they 'lived' in our dining room until late May 2011. All 12 plants have performed brilliantly and I've even managed to get seeds off Carmencita!

Lower Temperatures 2011-08-22

I had an extremely good germination rate only one seed did not germinate and that was with a lower greenhouse temperature than recommended.A really stunning foliage display with red and cream flower heads. With so many shades of greenfoliage the deep maroon/red makes an impact

Poor germination 2011-06-20

Out of the 6 seeds only 2 germinated and yet all were treated in the same way. The 2 that have germinated have grown on into strong plants. I am disappointed, however, at the germination rate as these seeds were expensive in the first place
