Compact enough to be grown in a pot on your patio but hardy enough to be included in any bed or border planting scheme, Potentilla fruticosa 'Red Ace' is impressive however you choose to display it in your garden. The bright red flowers start to appear in summer and will continue to emerge right through into the autumn, each bloom will gradually fade in the sun to a burnt orange colour, giving the appearance of a two toned shrub against the densely packed, dark green leaves. Height: 100cm (39"). Spread: 100cm (39").

How to Grow

Grow potentilla in any moderately fertile, well drained soil in full sun.

Feed and water regularly until young potentilla plants are fully established. Shrubby Potentilla plants should be pruned after flowering. Remove any damaged or dead stems before cutting back the flowered stems to within 2.5cm (1") of the previous year’s growth.
