Description

Fill your beds and borders with this bargain collection of herbaceous perennials. Perennial plants bloom year after year, and many can also be cut and brought into the house for beautiful flower arrangements. Height: Up to 1m (39"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Please note, when you receive your plants, the green plastic tray is embossed with letters underneath each row of plants - these letters correspond to the list supplied with your plants so that you can identify them.

    Collection includes:
  • Aquilegia 'Mrs Scott Elliot' - The stiking flowers of Aquilegia 'Mrs Scott Elliot' come in a range of pretty colours and are perfect suited to cottage gardens borders and woodland planting schemes.
  • Dianthus 'Rockin Red' - Pinks are colourful, incredibly long-lasting and durable. The lacy, lightly-perfumed, vivid red flowers look fantastic wherever you plant them.
  • Lavender 'Hidcote' - With its compact habit and dark purple flower spikes, this must be one of the nation's best known varieties of English lavender.
  • Delphinium 'Dark Blue & White Bee' - These magnificent delphinium bloooms are certain to create quite an impact in your garden this season. Delphinium 'Dark Blue & White Bee' has intense dark blue flowers, each with an unusual white "bee" shape at the centre!
  • Verbena 'Buenos Aires' - The long lasting blooms of the stunning variety are guaranteed to attract clouds of bees and butterflies into your garden
  • Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm' - An RHS AGM winning Black Eyed Susan bearing bright, golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers with dark button eyes that make excellent cut flowers.
  • Gaillardia 'Mesa Bright Bicolour' - Gaillardia ‘Mesa Bright Bicolour’ is a fantastic, brightly coloured blanketflower that is guaranteed to add extra cheer to any flower border.
  • Digitalis 'Dalmation Mixed' - Digitalis 'Dalmatian Mixed' looks magnificent in cottage gardens and woodland borders - but thanks to their uniform branching habit, these statuesque foxgloves make fabulous annual bedding too!
  • Echinacea 'Primadonna Mix' - The striking petals of Echinacea 'Primadonna Mixed' radiate outwards from a deep orange-brown central cone and are extremely appealing to bees and butterflies.
  • Coreopsis 'Sunkiss' - Coreopsis 'Sunkiss' has the brightest yellow flowers and largest central blotching of any grandiflora type and they are produced in abundance on compact well-branching plants, from late spring right through to the hard frosts of autumn.
  • Lobelia 'Starship Scarlet' - A glorious perennial for borders or large patio containers. You'll be enthralled by the ruby-red, glossy foliage and punchy, scarlet-red flower spikes!
  • Scabiosa 'Blue Note' - Scabious are a magnet for butterflies and bees, thanks to their nectar-rich, beautiful flowers. An adundance of flowers are produced on tall, wiry stems, which fill gaps in borders quickly and easily.

How to Grow
Pot up plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until all risk of frost has passed. When plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into borders and containers. The herbaceous perennials in this collection can be grown in any moist, fertile soil, in sun or semi shade. Work some compost or general fertiliser into the top 20cm of the soil prior to planting.
More Info
In autumn, cut back the old foliage to ground level and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plants. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of perennials in autumn to maintain their vigour. Caution: Contact with Foxgloves may irritate the skin and eyes, and are toxic if eaten.
