Description

Lewisia cotyledon ‘Mountain Dreams’ is a stunning rock plant forming attractive, low rosettes of evergreen, fleshy, spatula-shaped leaves that give way to sprays of exquisite, funnel-shaped flowers from May to September.

Provide Lewisia cotyledon ‘Mountain Dreams’ with a sheltered, freely draining site in the border or a terracotta container lined with plenty of crocks, and it will reward you with a spectacular display. The flower sprays are held on upright stems, well above the leaves, and come in a fruity range of colours from purplish-pink, apricot, orange, yellow or white. Each individual flower measures around 1.5-2.5cm and is exquisitely detailed with darker veining. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 25cm (10in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Lewisia in full sun on any neutral to acid, well drained soil. Lewisia particularly dislikes wet conditions. On heavier soils, incorporate plenty of grit to improve drainage, prior to planting.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water Lewisia plants regularly throughout summer. Deadhead faded Lewisia flowers frequently to encourage more blooms to be produced. Lewisia plants can be overwintered if protected from winter wet. This can be achieved by placing a piece of glass or plastic over the crown of the plant, raised on bricks or similar. Alternatively lift plants and keep them dry in a cold greenhouse.
