Description
Iris sibirica is a versatile hardy perennial – equally at home in moist or dry soils. From June to July, upright, branching stems bear up to 5 violet-purple blooms with distinctive bronze and white falls. This handsome Siberian Iris forms spreading clumps of narrow, green, strap-like foliage associates nicely with broader leaved perennials and gives a pleasing grassy effect when planted beside water. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread 60cm (24").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Iris sibirica enjoys a sunny position in well drained, neutral to slightly acid soil. These perennials prefer a free draining soil, so amend heavy clay soils with plenty of grit and well rotted manure prior to planting. When planting iris, ensure that the rhizome sits just at the soil surface as they are prone to rot if planted too deeply.
More Info
Overcrowded clumps of iris plants can be divided in late summer after flowering. Avoid mulching the rhizomes to prevent them from rotting over winter.
